I've used that in the past, no issues. Only during take off and landing it needs to be put away

Can't check in?

If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

I have used this in the past: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07K69DZWK  but your link looks better cause not so bulky. It is great for infants/toddlers works however the FA made sure that was only used by window seat (makes sense as it literally blocks passage)

Even on the plane el al new they lost my bag or rather it didn't make it onto my flight and they "hoped" it made it onto the next one. So, if that bag doesn't show up before Shabbos I literally have nothing to wear.

What are the odds that I'll see any sort of comp from el al for this?

I got complete comp very easily from them. Make sure to file the claim and take pictures of receipts. It was a flight that landed Thursday and they dropped off the luggage Sunday. Around a month later they sent a $200 check to cover the Shabbos outfit that was bought.

Maybe I was lucky. In the couple times I have had delayed baggage from different airlines I have found if you take good documentation, follow the airlines guidelines, and are on top of them they will reimburse you. This is the email I received from El Al when I made my claim:

I have helped many successfully with many other airlines
Elal was the only one who first tried challenging thet you flee on a us passport so you must have clothes in the US (traveler lives in Israel but why does it matter what if you fly with all your clothes)
Then claimed receipts were unclear
Then claimed the receipts were old (DD/MM vs MM/DD)
Then claimed was past the time limit
I recall correctly they finally paid after small claims was filed

They told me to call the baggage service today 03-9771150 for an update. They opened 30 minutes ago and I've been on hold since then  :(

Is there any other way to get through to them?

As mentioned above ELAL is a different airline since Kenny took over (Like US ideas about customer service!)
Anyway, AYLOR if you need to tell them where you live. I asked R' Yitzchok Silver, and he told me that its not any of the airlines business where you live, and if you are truely inconvenienced by the missing luggage, and you dont blatantly lie about your residence ("I live in NY" when you have lived the past 10 years in JLM, rather just show them your licence with your US address)...

Again
Why is that relevant?
Is there no case where your Yom tov clothes or wedding clothes are in the bag?

Airlines are liable for "essentials".
YT clothing, while important, is not "essential" by most readings of the word.
Most airlines tell you (either in online baggage guidance, or when asked) to hand carry wedding clothing and NOT check it.

Honestly, maybe s/o could post the actual text of the relevant international convention... rather than all of us postulating that they are obligated to give us whatever we claim we need when we actually have no idea...  ;D

I am not referring to a wedding dress
Clothes that are respectable for a formal event

Text is very clear in their full terms and conditions
