Coming back in business with an EMPTY duffel, they made me go wait on line at oversize. looked like half hour wait, I just left it. Which took a few minutes till I got security to allow me to do that.

I had a medium sized duffel and I was sent to oversized in TLV even though it was much smaller than max dimensions for standard luggage. Gate agent said that duffles jam up their regular conveyor belt system. The oversized line is so inefficient I spent over an hour and almost missed my flight. Avoid using duffles if you can.

Not this week....
As an agent I can tell you economy class wait-lists have not had a good success rates the last week (and probably next week too
Realistically speaking students coming in for yeshiva/seminary are less likely to cancel then a family/business traveler
Additionally elal has been holding seats for those escorting the deceased...

I booked from JFK to MXP on EK in J and from MXP to TLV on ELAL in Y. (2 separate tickets)
Can I tag my bags in NY directly to TLV or will I need to pick them up in MXP and check them in again?
I don't want to pay for extra suitcases on the 2nd leg.
