What fare classes are the new and old segments?
There is an exchange fee when you change fate classes even to a lower one
Additionally it can be there are different fares for different days

You can't book exEU ticket on ElAl with Chase Travel as a classic fare that includes baggage? It only offers the lite fare.

Any tips on how to change it. Calling Chase didn't help. ELAL doesn't want to change it, and therefore they don't want to allow me to add the Protect add on to it.

Did the agent on the phone sound competent?
Maybe they didn't know how to price a branded fare and made it up?

I've never had good experiences with Chase Travel agents. What should I be asking them to book? On the portal it shows up as Economy. The equivalent in ELAL terms is the Lite fare. I want the Classic fare.

u can try a few times to call el-al to add el-al protect on chase/amex  travel  also by  chase if ur first flight is in nyc sometimes its not  the same fare  of el-al

In TLV you can go to the screening in area W, dedicated to people who only have carry-ons.

Outside of Israel you don't need to - you'll then have the screening at the gate. You do need a boarding pass to go through TSA
