I think it a DROPR. But still need to figure this out and know if there’s any solution. Ticket was mysteriously cancelled 2 days after rebooking with no notification.
Are you sure it was actually reticketed?
Sounds like was reserved and not ticketed so the segments auto cancelled

Definitely a possibility. Though she did get a ticket number but because it’s an exchange it may not have re-ticketed properly. Question is what she can do now?

First of all check if their is elal availability if there isn't there is nothing to talk about
If there is you can call ask for international escalate etc and request rebooking based oth the history parameters etc
Assuming you are proficient in understanding airline codes etc and the reservation is live you can check the remarks on the open source website that allows you to view notes  and ticketing details on several airlines including DL

Did she get a receipt showing the exchange?
Did they simply send the same ticket number?

Yes, and no.

I booked a round trip flight TLV to JFK with the return portion covered with Matmid points. The JFK- TLV was scheduled for 1145 pm Motzai Shabbos. El Sl now changed the flight time to 11pm, which is right coming from Lakewood. The agent said the flight can’t be changed to the 150 am flight which has availability because it is an award ticket and there are no award redemptions available on the next flight.

Most likely we can make it for 11pm, but if  we end up missing the flight will El Al try to rebook us on a later flight or will we simply lose the award flight and have to figure out how to book another flight on our own?
Now got changed to 9:55 pm! No way to realistically count on making it from Lakewood with luggage by then. Really crazy how they pull schedule changes like that.

FWIW, I know a family- with luggage- that made that flight this past Motzei Shabbos- LY26 9:50pm.
They left Lakewood at 7:00.
So if you leave Lakewood at 6:00, I would think that's pretty safe.

Ly26 is EWR. This is JFK which is usually an hour plus farther.

Friday AM flight arrives EWR 1:30PM (then drive to Monsey) Shabbos is 4:15 is that risky?
(Would never consider such a flight except maybe since its ELAL, and they wont leave if its delayed)

They typically won't land on Shabbos but would have no issue landing 5mn before Shabbos.

I personally wouldn't risk it unless you truly have no choice

Oops, got it.
Still, IF you leave right at 72- around 5:35, should be playing pretty safe.
But does not seem right that they are not accommodating, based on the circumstances.
Anyone have a way to help jye?

Heard from someone who seems to be in the know that El Al’s been doing this pretty regularly Motzai Shabbos only to jump the flight time back up to 11 on Motzai Shabbos to try to get frum passengers to not all show up at 930 Motzai Shabbos. Hope that’s true.

The El Al representative on the phone claimed all flights for the next week from both EWR and JFk are overbooked by 5 passengers, and there is no availability out of Boston or Miami either. I wonder if this is a way to free up a few seats as well…

That's funny in a way, but I can't imagine this being any fun for you.

i bid on a plusgrade cash upgrade on an LY flight from Europe. cheapest bid allowed was 180, so that's what I bid.

12 hrs before the flight I get an email suggesting I up the bid to $387 to match the highest bidder, which I declined to do. Just gave up on it, but forgot to cancel my bid. 6 hours before the flight I get an email that my 180 bid was accepted.

were they playing games the whole time?

It’s not like the world will end if my daughter misses a few more days of seminary but we will give it our best shot to make the flight and take it as a lesson learned not to rely on El Al Motzai Shabbos.

I have a flight to Europe on United and have a separately booked onward flight with ELAL to TLV, connection time is 2:10h. Would anyone know if there is a possibility to have UA tag it all across, even more important will ELAL accept it?
Any tips or suggestions on how I can avoid having to go through passport control and then collect my bag and recheck etc? Airport is FCO I heard it’s a messy airport.
I have done it twice recently in opposite direction ELAL to UA, and once UA to a non star alliance airline, but never to ELAL

(If wrong thread pls let me know)

Thank you

If you only have a carry on bag there is a dedicated line in area W

Have an early morning LY flight ex-TLV to Europe with carry on only.

Is there still a dedicated line for this or do I need to wait on the long security line? How much time should I leave for a 5:30A flight Wed.?

Also, how makpid are they on the weight of the carry on?
