For the no-kosher consumer it seems like TK J meal service is amazing. My KSML looked like an economy meal with a sticker that said business.

Layout is 2-2-2 on their North America to IST route. And depending on your connection you will either get a widebody or a narrow for the IST-TLV route. You will NOT get an all-night flight back to the US arriving in the early AM on anything but DL, UA or LY.
Not sure what all the hype is about TK. The only time I flew TK J was connecting from PG J and it definitely felt like a downgrade

DL J TLV-JFK is wonderful!

Helpful. Coupled with DW's admonition, this info makes it much easier to forget about TK for a while.  I hadn't thought about sleeping on the way back but that sounds like an interesting approach. Thank you.

Did you mean to say TG?

Never flown TG but from what I hear about them TK must definitely be a downgrade.

I am not hyping TK. My personal experience with them was less than optimal. I think the hype is about the TK Y compared to other airlines in Y into TLV.

That being said, $1700 for RT in TK J (BF sale) JFK-TLV is very good value IMO.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

That is where the real value of J lies (pun intended), the ability to arrive somewhat rested and able to function.

Well, you don't expect to compare an Asian airline to a European one. (TK considers themselves European).

Yup. My wife did a solid 9 hours BKK-CDG and even I got 5-6 (I usually can't sleep on planes, even in business I have a very hard time)

I'm not necessarily comparing TK to TG.
I just felt underwhelmed by the whole TK experience. Wasn't blown away by the lounge, didn't think the seat was amazing and it's annoying not to have aisle access, service was ok and meal wasn't great.
I'd still take them over LY any day

Correct.
Best BF deal IMHO. My BIL really saved a lot on that, as he flies out of ATL which usually would mean a few connections, high fare and sometimes multiple tickets which can result in problems on the connections.

This would be nice.....when it happens

Very amateurishly written, and misses their real problem (which is their corporate culture/DNA). As long as they focus on the wrong issues, they will continue to lose (though a fleet upgrade will mitigate to an extent).

Someone who flew Hainan to Beijing on a brand new A330 or Cathy to Hong Kong on a brand new A350 might return to ELAL if they get new planes but ONLY if they start training their staff to provide service in a way that you don't feel like they are doing you a favor after you spent double to fly with them!!!

That needs to start all the way at the top. It's not a training issue, it's a corporate culture issue.

Correct but it is also a training and hiring issue.
Did you ever notice that there are almost no middle age people in the Israeli service industry? It's mostly high school or collage age people who are only working in that job until they move on to something better. They feel like they don't really have to treat you well since they are planing on moving on soon.
Did you ever see a 45 year old FA in Elal coach? Other airlines have plenty of middle aged FA's who have been doing the job for 5, 10, 20 years and view it as a real profession.

The last time I flew Elal, I kept calming myself down by saying to myself: "You decided to fly Elal and you knew what you were getting yourself into"
(It was the only available flight and the first time I flew them in 6 years)

Can you please tell me a better way to fly to NY in J with points?
Do you prefer flying LH F 5am flight on small plane, and then you have FCT for 3 hours without sleeping at night ?

I take it you only flew on American based airlines.
Can barely find an Asian FA of marriageable age.
