Daughter just got back from Israel in Nov on the TLV-BOS flight. She just confirmed that in Y there is no seatback entertainment. There are small cathode-ray tube-type television monitors in the aisles but she said they were too small to see anything.  IIRC, in J, they provide iPads. She said the FAs didn't inform them of any ability to stream on their own devices.   Are you sure you have to fly on El Al???

No, neither her August nor her Nov flights was Spanish leased.  I suppose it's possible they fly more than one plane on that route. I just always figured it was the same 767 back and forth.
At least it's non stop. And at least the food is kosher. Maybe the IFE will pleasantly surprise?

I flew BOS-TLV and it actually did have streaming -- so maybe the equipment isn't always the same?  This was over a year ago...

If you're referring to the statement about departing on time, it's very common for airlines to mention on time departure and gate closing times on their BPs. I don't think that's their slogan in any way.

Which might be a contributing factor in me not flying there other than for family reasons (which in recent years have become more frequent).

Also, how about hire a different CEO (of the Gordon Bethune type). As they say in Hebrew הדג מסריח מהראש!

What a joke! They are still flying planes from the 80's and 90's but think that if they change the look of the breakfast try it will help them to stop bleeding costumers.

Maybe I'm misinformed but which planes in their fleet are from the 80s? Also age of actual plane isn't as relevant in their image. Which LY plan​e is older than Air Force One?

I defenatly know that I flew on their 747's when I was really young. The difference between air Force one and Elal's 747's is that air Force one gets used maybe once or twice a week. Elal's uses thier planes almost 24/6. That's one of the reasons that so often they have mechanical related delays.

Age of planes and subsequent flight delays are very relevant to thier image.
For all thier talk of safety and security, I am very nervous to get on a plane that old.
