Up to you. But current price is for U, G. Can potentially drop to U, U which would price $878.12
Normally I would say to wait a bit, but being that it's a MS (higher demand ex-TLV) and the price isn't bad, you may not want to risk it going up...

Thank you, so it isn't clear cut either way.
By MS, do you mean NS (nonstop)? Because if it's MS, I'm definitely doing it! :)

I am looking to book a flight from Rome to TLV on 10/12 and am confused about the baggage allowance. El Al's website says as of 4/30/18 they are changing the fair structure for flights after 10/15/18. Basically, it's more of the flex option that many airlines are going towards where you pay for a checked bag and save if you don't have it.

Here's the confusing part -- the flight I want to book is before the policy changes but when I go to buy the ticket, it gives me the 3 options (Economy Special, Basic, and Flexible -- of course the language doesn't match what they use on other parts of the site which says Lite, Classic, and Flex, respectively).

I am assuming that the website is just not coded properly and is automatically putting in the 3 classes even though it's before 10/15/18. Has anyone figured out how to resolve this online? I am hoping I can buy a regular economy seat that includes a checked bag. Or I just buy the "Basic" ticket for the $35 extra.

The "special" fare in this case also includes a checked bag. It's not like lite

My parents are in need of a refundable fare from nyc to Israel. I looked at the basic economy fare (O) rules and it appears that El Al allows a refund before the first segment for a $250 cancellation fee. Can someone confirm that this is accurate? Is it an easy process to obtain  the refund?

Does LY always offer the same day onboard business class upgrade for $700-$800?

What if the regular fare was booked with points?

Thanks

And what would the fee be on a paid ticket?
Depends which fare class, usually $150 (plus fare difference).

Thanks. I guess another reason to book with points, was trying to decide to book award or paid, I can get for $1030 couldn't decide what's better option.

Ask the question when ELAL is added to the list: https://www.tsa.gov/precheck/participating-airlines
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

does that mean I can't go on the pre-check line at Terminal 4?

Only if you have a boarding pass from a participating airline, and you gave that airline your KTN prior to your boarding pass being printed.
