If you book PE and they change the aircraft to 747, what seat do you get?
El Al rarely changes aircraft (within a few months of the flight). Do you have such a case, or are you asking theoretically?

Elal changes aircraft more than any other airline

False. Where do you take that from? I take my info from thousands of flights booked (as a TA), and I nice percentage of them on El Al. Again, I'm not referring to changes more than 3-4 months prior to the flight. That's a very different story (with all airlines).
They had issues for a couple of months last year when they were wetleasing from Privilege Style and Hi Fly, but other than that period of time, they were pretty reliable.

As a side note, on the routes I deal with most, I find that the winner for switching aircraft last minute is Ukraine International

Yep, just yesterday they bumped more than 50 people from KBP-JFK because the 767 has 100 fewer seats than the originally scheduled 777. Someone I know was booked in J but after they left the gate the whole back of his seat broke off so they put him in the FA's jump seat for almost the entire flight!

Heard too many such stories. Had passengers book TLV to KBP in J at a premium price for the 767 or 777, only to be switched to a 737 (regular economy seat) and got no compensation because "they sat in business class"

That happened to me 2 weeks ago (although I upgraded with points).

Is there a way to buy matmid points?  I have 270 points and need 300 points for an extra bag on the way home.  Is it possible to buy the 30 points or use cash and points as you can do for a flight?
200 dollars is a lot extra for a second bag compared to 100 dollars on united.
As a side question, el al or united nonstop economy tel aviv to newark.

When you buy an award ticket, if you're missing points you can buy them at $1 a point. Not sure if being able to buy them also applies to suitcases, but I would give them a call

El Al charges $100 for an extra bag purchased at the airport (not $200). If purchased in advance (up to 6 hrs prior to departure), it's only $85

It might depend on whether you are looking at this as a one off flight, or if you fly regularly.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

UA 772 (afternoon flight from EWR and morning flight from TLV).
