Anyone know about how long it takes from landing to curb on the flight from Los Angeles? Israeli passport and checked bags.

TIA.
Did it last month. 15mn

Assume 5 - 10 minutes from landing to gate.  After that, it will depend on (a) how long it takes you to get off the plane (2-5 minutes for 1st/Bus; up to 10/15 minutes for others); how long it takes you to walk to passport control (you could jog it in 3-4 minutes but a leisurely walk is 5-10 minutes; how long the line is at passport (0-60 minutes based on my experience - no way, rhyme or reason to predict   IF YOU HAVE ISRAELI PASSPORT, YOU CAN USE THE BIOMETRIC MACHINES, IF YOU ARE ELIGIBLE AND CUT THAT TO 2 MINUTES); and waiting for bags.  Recently I have found them to be on the belt by 15/20 minutes post landing.  Of course, if border control or customs has an issue, they can always hold you up indefinitely.
So...best scenario you may be out in less than half an hour but usually closer to an hour or more.
Just my experience.

It's indeed a best case scenario because I was flying F, so I was first person out of the plane and there was no line at immigration

I don't believe double aisle aircraft are ever loaded onto busses. IME, it's always straight into the terminal.

Just booked a Qantas redemption for El Al in J and the only thing I can seem to do on El Al's website is change my meal preference. No seat changes (or even assignments), nor entering info like my Known Traveler or PP.

Does El Al insist you call for these things, or did I miss something?

If he has biometric there are a set of four machines very early about 2 minutes before the ramp down to passport control. Use that there is never a line, you get the slip and walk right through takes 30 seconds.

Thanks. What a giant waste of time, but I guess they like to make things as annoying as possible. ;)

It's a bug for bookings via certain agencies. UR bookings is one of them. But many TA bookings can be managed online.

Is there any way to enter Qantas FFN to a LY record online, or must I PUTPAC?

I figured while I was doing it I would offer it, and they said they collect Global Entry info for flights into the US, which this is. So I gave it to them. It now appears on my reservation when I view it on elal.com

Booked a flight to Europe on El Al. Now I realize there’s no checked bag. Will they still weigh my carry-on?

Yes if you make the dumb mistake of going up to the check in desk.
Check in online before the flight or use the automatic kiosk at the airport, print out your boarding pass and proceed straight to security

And by security, you mean the metal detectors or the queue before the counters? And I just skip the counters?
