From all the recent / upcoming changes, what drives me the most crazy is the fact that TP need to pay extra for checked suitcases on Lite tickets.

I mean one basically needs to spend $43k/year to be a TP under the new rules.. so you already get my $43k, now you're going after $35 for the once or twice a year a TP flies economy?

Today LY told Ynet that it will operate flight to Orlando during the summer, with first flight on July 2nd. Price starting at $999, and will be on both the 787 and 777. I couldn't find how many weekly flights at this stage

Confirmed. No more elal Z class on points after April 1st. Same goes for the double points in Coach as well as in Premium.

@Dan maybe update the post regarding the upcoming changes.
You mean no more booking with points on Z class even for Platinum Members?

LY 8 still sitting on tarmac in JFK on account of mechanical issue. They are going to try taking the part from LY 1 before letting passengers disembark.

Wow this is rough.

Got 2 family members onboard but they’re thankfully sleeping. Where can I find updates?

I might be wrong here. But I seem to recall that unless the flight is headed / originated from Europe, then you are only entitled to compensation for delays of over 8 hours. So here it looks like it will be 6.5 hours.

Again I might be wrong

True, under the delay law. But they violated DoT regulations by not allowing people to disembark.

What should I push for?

Family members are not happy that their trip was so shortened, nor were they thrilled about sitting so long on the plane.

Am thinking of partial refund. Thoughts?

What's the value of 1 matmid point these days?

Curios as they have a promo for executive members 1800 matmid points and 349$ in taxes for a RT ticket. Seemed expensive unless they went down in value each matmid point?

Doesn't justify booking or boarding this flight (except in true emergency after consulting one's LOR), but this flight looks like it will land about 2 hours before sunset.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

I posted before it departed, but how much time will it take pax to go through customs and take a cab to Jlem...
LY refused to let anyone off the plane.
Sadly, people will never learn.
