On the topic of getting a refund for a cancelled elal flight. Everyone is suggesting a DOT complaint and a chargeback. I booked my elal flight with chase reserve points. Whenever I call chase to do a chargeback they say that there’s no “charge” to chargeback as it was booked with points and they cant give me back my points until the airline authorizes the refund???

Any advice?

considering their current situation, what do people think about buying elal tix for pesach next year (they are now available)? obviously im scared of a bankruptcy where i somehow lose my tix (i dont know whether FAA or someone would help me there). I'm heavily leaning no, but their prices are still nice before they go to the mainstream sites (still stuck at only March 2021 flights).

idiots. Of course there is a charge. They, Chase, just refunded it on their end. They never voided the approval code etc.

It means that when you use chase points, chase is paying the airline cash, not points. They can charge back just as one could when using a credit card.
