i booked a ticket on mytrip.com for an elal flight last april which was canceled.
about 3 weeks ago i filled out the form for a refund + 30 points.
i got the 30 points into my account and a confirmation email from elal that i should contact the travel agent to complete the refund process.
i spoke to mytrip.com today, and they said the refund is approved by elal, but they havent given them back the money yet.
are they saying the truth? is that really how it works?
is there anything i can do?

thank u

They are saying the truth, LY is punting off to agents without actually giving them access to refund.

It’s unclear how they will calculate the value of this half a ticket. Wouldn’t be surprised if they charge you claiming that the oneway is more expensive.

Had 2 returns canceled, with Virgin Atlantic and Lufthansa. Both gave me way less then half, claiming there are non refundable taxes etc.

Looks like they are proactively extending status by 12 months.
Both DW and me got extended without asking for it, or being notified

At long last, appointment of new board (members) expected today. Will this be a dawn of a new era for LY?

I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Ive met Brodet a few times. I think he's the best person for the job. Put differently, if he doesn't manage to solve the current HR / culture issues within LY, no one else will, IMHO  :)

And it really boils down to those two issue. Culture (corporate DNA) and HR. Everything else can fall into place once these two fundamental issues are resolved.

He's successfully tackled these 2 issues at Leumi.
Fired a huge % of employees which technically had tenure, but he found ways. And same thing with culture - they used to go on strike every other day, and he basically sat down with the unions and explain that without change the entire company would go out of business. And it worked

Brodet, Ben Zvi, Shalo, Cohen, Greenblat and Englemat just appointed.
If I remember correctly they need shareholder assembly to confirm the decision but I might be wrong.

Yes, and here you go with the full details (in Hebrew though..)
seems like they also extending the expiration deadline for the actual points.

Good grief, I sure hope the new mgmt. is a little more serious.  It's exactly this lack of attention to small details (among other things) that reflects the very root of the problem with this company, and many other Israeli companies.
