Does El Al allow handbags to be checked in at the gate in TLV? I want to bring some liquids, but not worth waiting an extra hour on line just to check them in (I'm only flying with hand luggage, and already have a boarding pass).

No

You can leave the liquids at the bottom of the suitcase, leave a water bottle at the top, and when they ask if you have liquid you hand over the bottle  ::)

Can't answer for short haul flights (Paris Spain etc) but flights to the U.S. For sure they'll take any room they can get

There's no liquid ban to anywhere outside of N.America.

Was great when Shmuzy Bar was around. Got lots of free wine with that method.

Anyone know if upgrades are going through these days. Or are flights too packed?

Elal charged a friend 4.50 to change info on a ticket within 24hrs of booking. They refused to cancel it, comparing the booking EST zone to the foreign one, cutting 7hrs off. Booked direct with airline.

I have that they want a $10 cancellation fee per ticket within 24hrs. Booked through Priceline.

Both ex tlv

Better question is why you are surprised it's elal
If you feel it's worth it file with Dot
Beware there are exceptions to the 24 hour rule (for example within 7 days of departure) so make sure you are actually right

It’s a July ticket I wasn’t born yesterday I know the rules. Never said I’m surprised didn’t even ask if anyone had a similar situation. Just saying what happened. Now mine they aren’t willing to cancel at all.

ETA got a supervisor from Priceline to call elal who called me back once it was worked out.

When I boarded the plane, I asked the gate agent if they allow to check in hand luggage at the gate (so I don't habe to throw out liquids), and they said yes

Cross posting here if anyone has any ideas, ty.
A relative has a flight booked through El Al, where this first segment is on Delta metal while the second is on El Al.
Any chance they can make adjustments to the first segment alone?
Their travel agent is telling them that neither airline is going to want to touch that segment.
Any thoughts or ideas of how to adjust that piece?

If it is a true agent it is their issue not the airline
Assuming we are talking before departure and the space is there it is a simple exchange
If it is after departure it does get more complicated
