Thought it made sense to start this up, will try to put in more info re local kosher establishments/shuls etc (yes in that order  )

Simcha Leiner Concert coming up on June 5 at the Young Israel (can get preferred and separate seating in advance).
Lag B'Omer BBQ and Solomon and Lanzbom concert on Thursday May 26 (concert starts at about 7:15).

late is a relative term for our community . The original (and best) Holy Schnitzel (http://holyschnitzel.com/) is open until 10pm and delivers pretty consistently, with online ordering (though just switched to a new system that is a bit jerky). Chopshtix chinese closes around 9ish depending how busy they are (www.allmenus.com/ny/staten-island/315080-chopshtix/menu/). Dairy Palace pizza/sushi/milchigs closes at 8pm https://www.facebook.com/DairyPalaceNY/ http://www.greatkosherrestaurants.com/kosher_images/uploads/116426502menu_Dairy_Palace.pdf).  Scoops (ice cream, israeli-type pizza and paninis) is open til 8pm i believe http://www.scoopscafe.com/. New bagel shop opening, unclear how late they will be open.
Dunkin Donuts is open til 10pm but may not be much left (plus that's cholov stam), Carvel is also open til 10pm usually, both are on manor road a few blocks away from each other.

Thanks for that. Its a shame there's no shul close by to SIU hospital. I was told the nearest is about an hour away. I'd stay for shabbos when necessary.

More like 45 min. away, but definitely a pretty far walk.

yeah the closest place is R Ivri http://www.torasemesonline.com/ about an hour walk, 3151 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306 (about 10 minutes closer than willowbrook shuls).

thx everyone, started a basic wiki, would be good if other communities and other info is incorporated when u have time.

just went to Island Cafe, formerly called Scoops and tried out the sushi, pasta and pancakes and they were actually great, high level chef rolls (at about 10.99-12.99 per roll including tempura rolls that were so big i had to use a knife...), fettucini alfredo wasnt amazing but was fine/normal, and the pancakes were fresh and perfect... so that's a good (though somewhat expensive) recent new option ($100 bill for fam of 5 including tip), basically at the level of an amazon/strawberry cafe milchigs place. b/c there just isnt much traffic, there is no waiter service, just the husband and wife plus a sushi man, so service can be slow when busy.

Been a while...
There is going to be a shabbaton in a couple of weeks (June 8-9) for ALL TYPES, all groups and shuls in Willowbrook are participating and you can choose which crew you want to focus on. If young israel isnt for you, there are also people hosting at R Pollack, the Agudah (R Moshe Meir Weiss) and other places.

closest  to SIU South is the Yeshiva of Staten Island community/kollel, about 40 minutes. Yeshiva of Staten Island, 1870 Drumgoole Rd E, Staten Island, NY 10309. R Ivry is closest to the main Staten Island Hospital campus at seaview, an hour away.
