Not that hard. Airplane security is alot less secure than you think. Thank god terrorists tend to be more or less stupid.
It could have very easily been placed on in Egypt.

As I said terrorists aren't the sharpest tools in the shed. And the likelihood of being found is slim. I was speaking to an airline security consultant a while ago who opened my eyes to the ease of bomb and weapon placement on planes.
