Happened to me last summer, accidentally packed my entire wallet in luggage and it was already on the plane. They accepted a prescription bottle and did some kind of security check. Then I had a full body pay down and try went through every single item in my carry on. I almost missed my flight! But I did get on without ID

Interesting idea came to my mind now. If someone doesn't have GE/TSA Pre, might this be a way to actually cut through the long security lines at airport?

No. It takes longer.

Given the latest stories in the news, that might be a better outcome than actually going through the regular lines, which might result in ACTUALLY missing a flight. :D
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

To me, this seems very risky. For example, Security might ask about your final destination and why you have so little luggage for a flight to Israel.

How does security know if you checked in luggage? Also, I never had anyone check id on a domestic leg.

When boarding the plane they don't check id.

-1 I had to show ID to board a delta flight in LAX

That is incorrect. They don't always and in most cases in the U.S. don't usually check, but they certainly do check at random.

Was it a domestic flight? I never had to, and I'm based in LA.

Either way, just tell them the same thing you told the original TSA agent

Wouldn't there be an issue if the airline scanned a boarding pass and saw that it hadn't gone through security? Or do the airlines and TSA not share that kind of data?

I'm not saying that they share that data with the airline but TSA scans all BPs.

I guess they indeed do not share that data, because people do this relatively often, from what I understand, and nothing happens.
