Interesting idea came to my mind now. If someone doesn't have GE/TSA Pre, might this be a way to actually cut through the long security lines at airport?
Happened to me last summer, accidentally packed my entire wallet in luggage and it was already on the plane. They accepted a prescription bottle and did some kind of security check. Then I had a full body pay down and try went through every single item in my carry on. I almost missed my flight! But I did get on without ID
To me, this seems very risky. For example, Security might ask about your final destination and why you have so little luggage for a flight to Israel.
How does security know if you checked in luggage? Also, I never had anyone check id on a domestic leg.
Havent traveled much since the 80s?
When boarding the plane they don't check id.
-1 I had to show ID to board a delta flight in LAX
Wouldn't there be an issue if the airline scanned a boarding pass and saw that it hadn't gone through security? Or do the airlines and TSA not share that kind of data?
Interesting. Didn't think of that...
How would they know you didn't go through security?
+1, Don't recall them scanning my BP
-1I'm not saying that they share that data with the airline but TSA scans all BPs.
