Am I the only one to think that the ppl complaining here are oot?
A NY'er getting a camera ticket will feel more stupid about not knowing the camera location than being mad about the city placing them.

try driving from Lakewood to BP on a quite Sunday, you drive on the GSP 80, SIE 50, ramp 45, then 35, ocean parkway 25, you feel like you are sleep walking no joke, ocean avenue in lakewood has a higher speed limit then ocean pkwy in NYC

LOL. It's like a rude awakening. Everything was going so smoothly until I exited the BQE to 38th Street. Then it happened. Ticket never arrived but I've never made the mistake since.

Does NYC even claim schools as a reason? They say repeatedly how they wish they had permission to install more cameras in more places for longer hours.

I used to live in BP I moved 3 times within and my opinion didn't change when we BH moved away from there, the enforcement from the city whatever form it may be weather on foot, patrol cars or cameras are here to get your wallet, in many places a cop sees you doing something wrong the'll give you a warning (when they're in the mood), in NYC they are here to ticket you, not to police you, find me someone that lives there that says otherwise

NYC would love to put them everywhere, but Albany restricts them to school zones. To NYC it's the same camera no matter where it's set up.

And that's why NYC leaves them on even when there's no school. Because they want speed cameras everywhere, all the time.

I gave up on speeding a while ago, everywhere. It's just not worth it.

Except on the GSP bridge right before the Outerbridge. No one goes 45 there.
