Spraying license plate to avoid camera tickets NYC

So many crazy ppl out there! I've seen the corners of the plate bent so it should miss a number! The city needs money, there going broke!

How about a bike rack covering the plates?
I see them all over Miami, I have a bike rack, Im thinking of just putting it on bec, why not/

I was at a bike store yesterday out on long island and was going to get a bike hitch specifically for this reason (I love my roof rack and it's not as dorky😉). But my sales guy told me that he recently had two different customers that got tickets in the city (that would be NYC for those of you not from NY) for having a bike hitch without any bikes on it BECAUSE it blocks the plate. They we told that if there is a bike on it, it would have been ok. Seems like they may be catching on so I'm having 2nd thoughts.

So buy a cheap bike to keep on the rack duh

I've always said that's the most genius way of blocking the plate. No cop is pulling you over for that. But it does make you look like a bit of a dork.

And prob makes it harder to fit into to a tight spot

So there is no spray or anything that works?

Or stick a plain old leaf in your plate looking like it fell from the tree!

I know where all the cameras on my way to work and where most of them are on the way to other places that I go to regularly. If I'm taking a route that I don't usually take I'll use waze just to know where the cameras are. Ever since I got a camera speeding ticket I started doing this and b"h I haven't received any more since.  Those mobile speeding cameras on top of cars i don't worry about, my cheshbon is that for the 1 or 2 times a year that I might get a ticket it's still worth it considering all the time that I end up saving.

not an idea at all! U will be banging up people's cars and when u park will block ur back view ,and keeps and extra piece on your car which you have to constantly make sure it didn't just fly off your car in mid route( and soif kol soif it won't last more then a week in ny, u will be buying a bike for ganav! (thinking about it! U can have a grt excuse to use when you get a ticket for your bike rack, just tell them ur bike got stolen so u were working on getting ur new bike which leaves you an answer to why u have a plain bike rack on with some bungy cords!       
Would love to hear some other original excuses or ways to block the plate!   (bike is an error X)

what I heard is the spray works fine but one prob is every time it rains it rubs off some of it so you got to have the spray handy or put a bumber bully to protect the rain or water from getting to ur sprayed plate! Also where do u plan on finding the spray? Remember a while back there were companies advertising these sprays haven't seen anything like that in a while!

That was my next Q. Where do I find the sprays? Also, how do you know spray works? Seemed like MythBusters tested all sprays and they didn't work and it didn't sound like it was cuz of rain..

just looking at the article in myth busters and now remember a friend of mine telling me about there being a video besides for the camera to avoid all the covered plates and one of the comments on myth busters was ; Actually now many speed cameras also use video cameras too (newer ones and toll ones) so a spray won't work, you will need something else..........

It's insane how many cameras wen up in the last year, I don't drive anywhere in the Five Boroughs without waze on to tell me where the cameras are.
