Any stranger who will do free house/child sitting for 3.5 weeks you should be very wary of.

With a nanny your home pretty often to oversee what is going on and to gage how your child is doing I don't know anyone who will interview a nanny and then leave their kids with her for three weeks

But in their circles, they may find someone whose brother-in-law is a cousin to their shvigger. And their Rav learned with their eidim, and whose next door neighboor is best freinds from seminary. It is a small world.

ETA: Not that that alone makes them trusted, but that allows them to really find out about them.

Almost as crazy as what half the working world does, by having their kids raised by their Spanish cleaning lady/babysitter.

This has gotta be the craziest thread I have ever read here....
Everyone was saying it wasn't an even exchange, it's not even close if my vacation home in Monsey comes with three kids in it it's worth $0. So it's babysitting for free.

When someone starts a thread with such a question you will have ppl  supporting and ppl opposing. Nobody changes their position. Its just becomes a slugfest.

Now I would never leave my children with a stranger, ( I didn't vacation for quite a few years because I didn't have a babysitter that I would trust) but even with someone that you do know, you really can't trust anyone, it's a sick world. I'll stop here....

I hate to add to this but I recall doing this a couple times as a kid.
Dif opinions as to how I turned out but not sure we can blame it on this...

I think the kids are too young for such a preposition. Maybe in a couple years, when they're able to take care of themselves, would such a thing work.
