So you'd pay $225/hour of sleep?
Same story for return makes it half that rate.

Say what? I can get there in business without paying an extra $225 per hour... On BA.
Except BA rate is dead. And connections are a PITA with little kids, which you'll learn soon enough.
Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

FTFY, only place where it's easy(er) is within the US between flights where no security is needed

Even within the US, I'd pay a big premium to fly nonstop CLE-FLL over CLE-NYC-FLL, especially with kids in tow.

May not be as good, but many *A airlines have ~$2500 J fares LAX-TLV with 1 stop (in YYZ, ZRH, FRA, etc) from now until the end of scheduling in April 2017. Nearly every day is available.

Heathrow is my favorite airport by far to connect in due to the good Kosher food (assuming you have J lounge access at the least). I haven't connected there with kids though, so I don't have any input in regards to that.
