I'm not saying the value is like churning an Ink Bold card, but it saves money, and shouldn't take long to do (especially with autofill) - so why not? I'm not telling you what to do, but it's not that crazy. Your prices are a bit skewed, though.

wipes - more than 5 cents, probably .20 a package, if you value them at the same price as a full size pack - but it's also the convenience, being able to stuff them in a diaper bag to go.

Shampoo - I shower 3-4 times a week. Depending on the type of shampoo, each packet can last several showers. I've gotten dozens of these.

Toothpaste - really? Where do you get toothpaste for $.10? Having about 10-15 samples size is at least a few full size tubes.

dental floss - it's a tiny amount, so less than .50, but again, it's convenient to have an individually wrapped piece.

tide pods - .10? Where are you getting these prices from?

I was gonna post. it all depends how often you shower or brush.

If you do it only once a month than your numbers are correct. He saved less than a dollar!

No worries - Sometimes I wonder whether or not my time (the 30 seconds, tops) would be better spent elsewhere...but I actually do use most of the samples I get, without much inconvenience, and sometimes with lots of added convenience.

As an aside, a great resource for free samples is Proctor and Gamble - you can request a smaple packet of whatever theyr'e currently offering, once every quarter. I just got my first quarter package, which had:

Tide pod
Tide power boost pod (or something like that)
Crest teeth whitening
Crest toothpaste
Downy fabric softener
Some kind of similar item to add scent to wash
Mini-containers (not the packets) of Pantene shampoo and conditioner
