Just got an email, as United expands its Polaris line of clubs and planes, Chicago is the first to move its First class lounge to a Polaris lounge (so it will be closed for renovations). Meaning that there will be far less room in the non-first class lounge. To limit traffic - they have stop accepting one time passes as of today!

Nice touch United!! I could care less, I do not live or fly through Chicago - but that is another great example of customer service from United!

Please be advised of the following operational updates.

Your travel experience is important to us. That’s why we’d like to let you know about a few changes to security and lounges at Chicago O'Hare before you travel.

Lounge and club updates

One-Time Passes cannot be redeemed at any club location in Terminal 1 through December 1, 2016.

The Global First Lounge will be closing June 16, 2016. We’re converting our Global FirstSM Lounge to make way for the brand-new United PolarisSM Lounge launching December 1, 2016. In the meantime, our Global First passengers will have a dedicated lounge space within the adjacent United ClubSM near gate C16. Please also note that shower facilities in this club will be closed during renovations.

The United Club near gate B6 is closed for renovations. Please visit the club near Gate B18 or C16 while we work to enhance your experience.

Select areas of the United Club near Gate C16 will be under construction beginning June 16, 2016. The club will remain open, however, shower facilities will not be available.

We appreciate your patience while we work to bring you an upgraded club and lounge experience. Please visit united.com/unitedclublocations for all up-to-date operational information for United Club.

Was just in Newark had signs at a few lounges stating that they could not accept one time passes.

I was there too, just came back from Israel, but I did not see them saying till Jan 2017. This is crazy to me, here you have all the ads promoting club access with the passes and then they are closing them out. They are feeling pressure for sure, from the club payers/status folks that pay to not be around the "rif raf" and here they are packed to the gills with those very "rif raf". So I get the squeezing, but stop the ads man and stop giving away status - that gets u into the lounge on International flights!

They have the fine print, that one time passes are capacity controlled.

If anyone happens to pass by and can take a picture of that sign and upload a picture to this thread. Thanks

This is straight up anti-Semitism. Might as well have had a huge life size picture of a Chossid with a big red line cutting across him. Unacceptable. Who is in for a class action lawsuit?

Some of us paid for a United Club membership. We're unlikely to continue to pay for such memberships going forward if we find no seats in the lounge because it's full of self entitled self rightous folks who got a credit card that came with a one time pass. As long as my type is providing more revenue and profits to the lounge system than your type, you get capacity controls. Simple business decision. You don't like, buy a lounge membership or take your business elsewhere.
