Sprint "Excessive Roaming" Termination
« on: March 24, 2011, 04:18:51 PM »
I got a letter from Sprint the other day stating that my line will be terminated effective April 11th due to excessive roaming.  (I use my phone a lot in the basement of my Yeshiva and there is no Sprint reception, only Verizon Roaming)

I got a warning letter from them a year ago, but they didnt give me anything since.  Now I called their "excessive roaming" department and they say that once the termination process is started they have no power to stop it.  The best they could offer me is to call them once my phone is terminated and they could try to resume it.  I doubt that will work, especially since I have an old retentions family plan which doesnt exist anymore and I would for sure lose all of my free add-ons (N/W 6pm, Free Data, Free 1000 texts, Free 5 #'s, Free 300 Bonus Mins)

I have had a couple conversations with them and they seem intelligent, just they said that that is how the system is programmed.  I even got an Airrave device and activated it and placde it on the first floor of the building (Airrave require GPS signal) directly above the room I use the most and did nothing to help. As I told them I have no desire to roam, but I do a lot of work in that room, and need to use my phone there.  If Verizon can get service down to the basement they should be able to as well.

If anyone has any advice or has had similar experience please share, I would much appreciate it. Time is of the essence here for me.

Thanks in advance,

HSS

Had the same story. Wasn`t able to accomplish anything with them, spent hours on the phone with them but to no avail. Be aware they only shut off the line that was roaming excessively not the other ones, if it isn`t the primary line it shouldn`t mess over the other lines.

Unfortunately at the moment it is set as the primary line, I spoke to regular Sprint Account Services and they said that they are switching it but it won't be in effect until the start of next billing cycle on April  4th so I guess I'll just have to wait and see and hope they did it properly.

I'm on Verizon a lot when I'm out of state. Hope I don't get one of these letters.

I think I might need to start one of Dan's Corporate Email bombs, anybody have an updated list of Sprint Execs Email addresses?

I found this: Daniel.R.Hesse@sprint.com, William.G.Arendt@sprint.com, Keith.Cowan@sprint.com, Paget.L.Alves@sprint.com, John.A.Garcia@sprint.com, Chris.A.Hill@sprint.com, Len.Kennedy@sprint.com, Richard.T.C.LeFave@sprint.com, Sandra.J.Price@sprint.com, Kathryn.Walker@sprint.com, barry.west@sprint.com, bill.white@sprint.com, Dan@sprint.com,

btw, Dan do u bcc or cc everyone? I could hear svaras both ways.  If I bcc then everyone thinks I just sent to them, whereas if I cc they all see I mean business however, noone might be interested in doing anything because they will see all of the other names on it, any suggestions and tips?

There's no set rule.  Sometimes I cc everyone.  Sometimes I write a "personal" letter to everyone.

Well I bcc'd everyone last night and it worked!! I went ahead and added all these names as well http://newsroom.sprint.com/executive-team/

Got an email reply from Bob Johnson - Chief Services Officer in less than 4 hours!!! The email reply stated I would be contacted shortly by a member of the Sprint executive team and less than two hours later I received a personal phone call from a Gayle Chong who informed me they are extending it for a 90 day period while they try to investigate and see how they can improve the service problem I have been having.

Thank you Dan for the awesome idea of an EECB you rock!!

If there is an interest I'd be more than happy to post my email to them letter and their reply.

Will keep you guys posted with updates!

I will try, but its hard when one of the places I use the most I only get roaming coverage.

Any interest in me posting the email?

You may have dodged a bullet once but don't expect it to work again.

Keep a tab and do note that it goes by over half of total usage so just using more on sprint (say kol haloshon and leave it playing) might do the trick to increase your sprint "utilization ratio" ;-)

Understood. Yes I am well aware, and part of my "tayna" to Sprint was they need to send someone out to fix building coverage because if Verizon can get service they should be able to as well, also I am working on ways to possibly get an Airave to work. But you are 100% correct I will not be able to continue with my usage as it was.
