success story i applied for spg, spg biz and hilton personal card got approved for all 3 and only got one inquiry

the only reason for that is i wanted some no fee cards i could keep open to help with my credit and there are no charge cards like that and i wanted the spg cards so.......

Business charge, no? There's also regular Gold and PR Gold (unless you have both).

i could have done business charge but i wanted a card that had a permanent 0 fee to keep open long term for my credit and there are no charge cards like that

So two days ago I applied for the following using 3BM:

Chase CO
Chase UA
Chase Sapphire.

I also did exactly the same for my wife.

I have searched through 7 pages of this thread and didn't find an answer to my question..... if the automated App Status hotline tells me my applications are all being reviewed, does that mean it's pointless to call recon or some other hotline because I need to wait to be accepted or rejected first? Or can calling them influence this "review" process?

for those of you who call before getting an answer, do you call recon? because the app status line seems to be totally automated, unless I just didn't have the patience to find a living csr.

I called recon and just hit 0000 til I get a live recon CSR. You need you app ID though and can get that by calling the main number. But I call and just tell them I know its pending but I wanted to call and see if I could speed up the process and answer any questions they might have. It has worked for me. Recon has the power to grant your card on the spot so if not on the first try try again....YMMV

No particular reason other than I've had success waiting and it's not worth wasting the time with another argument with the rep over whether I should just wait 2 weeks for the computer to decide first.
