I am about to do a Chase 3bm. I'm getting CO and UA. Anyone have any ideas for the 3rd? I already have SP and Freedom.

There was discussion earlier in the thread about whether it's better to call recon immediately or wait and see. The following experience might suggest the wait and see approach is better:

I did a Chase 3bm for my wife (CO UA SP) with no instant approvals. When calling the automated status line, it said 2 were "7-10" (indicating chance at approval) and 1 was "2 weeks" (indicating denial). When I called, they started asking why so many cards, and then looked into wife's credit and would not approve more than one. Another call to recon was to no avail. The final letter I got said "too many requests for credit."

No clear proof, but I would try waiting it out next time.

You're suggesting that if you waited, the 7-10 day notices would have turned into approvals? I don't buy it.

Anyway, decided to go with 2bm for UA and CO. Both pending

It's the other way around 2 weeks indicates approval (i've noticed this with my apps too).

Call in their Automated system. if they say "your application is now being reviewed, we'll notify you in writing in aprox. 2 weeks", then you have good chances to get approved, if they say: "7-10 business days", this means that you are denied, and you can call reconsideration right away.
This is a awesome method, i've tried it tons of times, and i found it to be very accurate.

Lost patience. Called recon. As expected, the CO (7-10) had been declined and the UA (2 weeks) was "over at verification." Got CO approved by shifting credit; got UA approved by verifying my info. Success!! Now I just have to get these matched.

As an aside, I know this has already been speculated but based on my convo with the rep it seems like 2/3 cards in a 3bm are automatically declined, regardless of credit score etc. and recon is the only option.

So, I just got targeted for the CO 50k and the UA 50k. I would also like to get the SP 50k. I know my official Experian score is not as high as I would like it to be and my TU and Equifax are a bit higher. I am not too keen on freezing my report because it is a hassle... if I have excellent credit otherwise, is it still worth it to go for the 3BM?
