Checking bags on Hidden city tickets - International Flights

Im flying from NAS (Bahamas) to JFK (this is my hidden city) and then the flight goes onto Martha's Vineyard. Can i technically check my bags since this is an international flight and i have to always re-check my bags upon entry to the US?

No. You will pre-clear customs in the Bahamas and JFK will be considered a domestic transfer.

Jfk-Calgary-Yul on westjet can I collect luggage at Calgary ?
