If reservation was made on certain date and credit card give, but ticketing occurs later, when does CC get charged?

Is it the original amount quoted (which was not in USD) or based on adjusted exchange rate?
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

IME the charge comes through as pending. Therefore whatever the exchange rate was at time of booking is what you will see on your statement.

IME, amex used the exchange rate at the time the charge posted, which was quite a bit more.
