The Chassidish couple we ate with told us they ate in a restaurant in the Days Inn (I think...?) Friday night and loved it, so perhaps we'd look into that for another trip.

Nice TR! Restaurant is called Florida Grill. It's in Days Inn and is $65 per person per meal on Shabbas last I checked.
Also for future travels to Miami Beach there is a minyan in Vendome only 2 blocks away from where u stayed

Thank you, this is really useful information to me!  All these punks are making fun but tons of people (like me) haven't been there or even if they have don't know a lot of these details.  Honestly, even though I've been for short visits, I would learn something from a trip report to Crown Heights or Boro Park too!  All you NY/NJ guys are just lucky out-of-towners are so much nicer and we respond to all your silly questions on our local threads to help you plan your vacations (and often host you for Shabbos) since we've all been to the Colorado mountains, Arizona deserts and Vegas a million times!

I can write 2808 words just on finding a parking spot.

(Of course, a real BPer would just put their car in park in middle of the street wherever they want to stop and call that parking. This would by necessity also cause 7 blocks of traffic behind them to be parked, but hey, that's life.)
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

The rest were 4 letter words induced by BP driving and parking conditions. They were censored out.

I agree. It's basically a fancier pizza place.

very sweet
I personally enjoyed it, and I've been there a few times
Thank you. I enjoyed the TR.
Thanks for the informative, well-written trip report!
+1
Thanks, enjoyed the TR

Not see why people are calling it random, it's a destination for a lot of people.
Nice TR.
Thanks Yehuda for putting in the time, and effort writing up the TR.
+1

Very well written and enjoyable to read!
I went after my wedding with DW for 6 days. I can write a 20,000 word TR and it won't be enough. We had a great time there and look forward to another opportunity.
Thanks for your TR, brought back memories.
Nice TR. Thanks for taking the time, @Yehuda.
@yehuda, great TR. useful. Fun to read. Thanks for taking the time and putting in the effort. Kol hacavod.

Nice TR! Thanks!

Thanks everyone! I appreciate the kind words. Glad to contribute and hopefully help people with their trips one day. It's also fun to have these memories written down; perhaps one day I'll turn them into a personal book or something. :)

Nice TR. I wish you would have checked out more food joints in the area.
Thanks - we weren't there for the food, but perhaps on a future trip.
Awesome TR, especially appreciated it since I'm apparently a country bumpkin since I ain't never been there!   :P  Seriously, I really appreciated all the details (especially knowing they ordered you kosher breakfast at that hotel and that it was fine without a rental car).  Keep 'em coming!
Thanks! Haha, I guess I am as well despite being from Jersey.
Nice tr! Very interesting food you ordered from shemtovs. I honestly thought shemtovs was overrated, besides the smoothies of course
Thanks - we really liked it. I agree it's not a fancy dairy place (I imagine like Noi Due, although I haven't been there ever), but it was nicer than a pizza store and had great food, in our opinion.

Also for future travels to Miami Beach there is a minyan in Vendome only 2 blocks away from where u stayed
Thanks - great to know about the restaurant and the closer Minyan - Next time!
Next up: A review of my trip to the grocery store.

I'm starting to see why there are so many popcorn threads on DDF. I said something minor as a joke and it's causing such a reaction.
I totally thought you were joking. Don't understand why it became such a big deal. lol

MIA to the beach is 15 minutes.
FLL is 45.
Days Inn Restaurant is meh.
Better off going to Rare.
MB is has a big community and there are other Shuls aside for JLC. FYI Chabad is actually a different shul currently situated above Shem Tov's as the construct their building.
I'd also say that no one will invite you for Shabbat lunch just as no one would invite you in new york. Unless you are single and look out of place.

Thanks for all this info after the fact! :P
Re: Chabad. Do you mean they have started construction since June? Because their Shul JLC was very nice and new looking already.
In terms of lunch, I wasn't looking for somewhere to eat out. Did I make it seem like I was? I just pointed out the kindness of the fellow who offered us a dinner meal, but I didn't go in looking for someone to offer meals specifically.
