Link: http://awdnews.com/political/direct-flights-between-israel-and-saudi-arabia-kicks-off-as-saudis-looking-for-alliance-with-israel-to-thwart-iranian-threat

Anyone know about this?

I hope and pray that this is true, as it could be a sign -- even a smidgen of suggestion -- that we could move toward peace.  However, when I look at the link, it looks more like something from The Onion than something bona fide.  Hope I'm wrong....

Interesting.
But why would this call for 787?

So who will be the first to fly JFK>RUH>TLV?

I was being serious. Don't you pray for peace? Shouldn't we look for signs?

LOL.

Why is it funny?  I have no idea if this particular story is true but we use to have daily El Al flights to Tehran during the time of the Shah (and Kind Hussein learned from the Shah's mistakes and soon after Iran's Islamic Revolution crushed the PLO in Jordan so that he could consolidate power). I don't thinks it's totally crazy that other Middle Eastern monarchs today would want to build relationships for geopolitical, real politik purposes.  Bahrain has US military bases there in part because of the Sunni Emir's fear of his neighbors and his own Shiite population.  It's an open secret that the Saudi and Israeli intelligence services work together all the time.  Egyptian state TV bashes Hamas and Hezbollah in a way you'd never hear on the news in the US.  Even if the masses are anti-semitic, many astute leaders understand that their own security and stability is tied to Israel.

It's an open secret that the Saudi and Israeli intelligence services work together all the time.

Did Hillary email about it once??

If this flight was real it would be on the major news sites, or at least a reliable news blog.

Im tirtzu, ein zoh agadah

FTFY, or the cynic's version (you speak Hebrew to appreciate it)
Im tirtzu? ein. zoh agadah.

P.s. Did Theodore have an Ashkenazi accent when speaking Hebrew?
