I just re-examined this deal. I currently have a 32" 1080 tv (free from dell) and an asus 24" 1080 monitor. I don't think this is worth it for me, but I do think it can be worth it to many people, especially as a tv. 720 is still hd, even if it is significantly different to the eye than 1080. It isn't going out the way of the dinosaurs. I doubt 4K will be very price effective to most at 32" given the limited discernible difference from 1080. If you need a 32 tv or aren't picky about monitor resolution this is a great deal.
