when we there the kosher hotel wasnt open in Jan but I think it was open in Dec.
Also we had our food confiscated at the Mexico City airport so keep that in mind. Lots of police in Acapulco but we didnt feel unsafe.

In cancun I had no issue bringing in meat. I was told you can also pay off the officers to let you bring the meat in...

I think the rule is that you can bring in processed foods in their original packaging e.g. cold cuts. We tried to bring in raw meat -  hamburgers.  chicken cutlets etc.  In MEX all the bags go through a scanner which seems to be able to detect foods?

Yes, they do have those machines there.  They scan you bags after customs

Bump.
Has anyone been to Acapulco since 2016?

The kosher hotel seems to have changed hands since then, and there isn't any info online about it.

Is there a Jewish presence at all?

Any supermarkets that carry some kosher food?

Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

That's part of the question.

Officially (US Travel Advisory) it isn't safe, but if one would stay in a resort the majority of the time, and explore only with resort vetted local guides / Taxis, then it might not be too bad if one is accustomed to areas that operate on corruption/crime?

I stayed there in August for 3 days.
It was AMAZING.

People don't go as the city has a very bad reputation, there was a huge crime wave in 2018-9, you can Google it, it has slowed a lot since then and didn't "feel" dangerous when I went.
The hotel is on its own peninsula, out of the city, and we only ventured out once to do the ocean zipline, always using the hotel's taxi service.
Service is top notch.

Do you have any specific questions?

I really should get around to posting a TR...
