4. There should be a window somewhere on the front panel to view the flame. There is often a small plastic piece covering it. View through there and see if the flame goes on and stays on regularly. If it does not then it is probably the ignitor or the gas valve.
Do they put them on dryers anymore?
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

I cannot be certain and definitely don't know about all models, but the reason to have the peephole has not changed. I guess the best thing to do is to Google how to view the flame for the specific model

I guess you didn't get the memo. Not needed on the newer models as they don't break.  ;)

Yes but can you check it for loose connections. Might have a ribbon cable, unplug and plug back in.
Is keypad worn?

On a similar note my dishwasher smells very bad after a couple days of not using it. I cleaned out the bottom filter but it didn't help

I also tried the vinegar and baking soda but that didn't work either.

any other ideas?
bump Anyone?

You sure the smell is not coming from the drain were the dishwasher is connected to?

I don't think so.
It's like a damp musty smell.
It's not even an old dishwasher maybe like 2 years old expensive Bosch

Just a heads up. My KitchenAide dishwasher came with the third rack broken. The Sales agent promised a replacement part. After not hearing anything for 6 months I gave up (dispute the charge?!). Then one day the parts actually showed up! So if your appliance guy is claiming parts are backed up and you think he’s balking, he’s not.

I ordered a 2nd stovetop just for Pesach and one of the grates came broken I called the manufacturer and they said that it was delayed but will send it by June, then September, and now I just remembered I have to call again. I hope it comes by next pesach as it was really annoying to use it without one of the grates.

By the book you should do a monthly cleaning cycle with a special detergent pack. I did this for a few months when the dishwasher was new but completely forgot about it since then. Sometimes I notice a dirty water smell, and then I run a "Sanitize" cycle but with regular detergent. It seems to do the job too.

There was a smell akin to melting plastic at the end of the wash cycle when I used it.  The smell returns during the "dry" portion of the cycle every time I use the dishwasher but has lessened over time.  I, personally, would never use this product again!
