MY Frigidaire all-refrigerator's 'door open' alarm is ringing.
The temp isn't low. The door is closing well.
I put the fridge on Shabbos mode, which overrides all alarms.  But what could it be?  what should I do?

Also, both my fridge and freezer periodically leak water.  We live with towels on the floor in front of theses appliances.  I recently was told that keeping it on Shabbos mode all the time contributes to that problem.  So after yomtov, I took it off shabbos mode for the first time in a long time. My freezer still had a leakfest day. My fridge started alarming.

I dont have any ideas about the cause, but is the leak coming from the drainpan? Not everyone knows this exists, but frost free freezers and fridges drip into a pan near the compressor. This is usually located in the back of the fridge, so you'd have to pull it out to look.

The liquid is normally evaporated by the evaporator fan, which makes room in the pan for additional condensate.

Is the evaporator fan broken? That would be an easy fix! Is the drain pan out of place, or cracked? That could explain why collected water isnt staying put. The bad scenario is if theres so much condensate coming out of the drain that the evaporator cant keep up.

I have a magic mill crockpot. It makes this ticking noise for 30 to 40 seconds around every 2 minutes. I'm assuming it's the heating element turning on. I'm wondering if it's supposed to make this ticking noise constantly or only once when the heating element turns on. Sound recording is in the link below.

Sounds like a bad relay but these crockpots usually dont have a relay (unless the temp setting is electronic)

The water flows out of the floor of the fridge, leaking onto the floor outside.
When the leaking first started in earnest a few years ago, I checked out the drain hole at the back of the fridge floor. I don't remember exactly what I did, but the tiny snake I bought didn't fit in.  I think pipe cleaners were too short.

Ah. That makes sense, if the leak is coming from inside then the only thing i can think of is a clogged drain. Did you try pouring water into the drain to see if its clogged?

I don't remember, but I've been assuming it's clogged for years. Maybe I'll do work on it again.
My big POD (problem of the day ) is the alarm.  I'm keeping it on Shabbos mode like I've done pretty much for years, so it's not alarming, but I'm worried there's something wrong or something big about to be wrong with the fridge.

Plus if keeping it on Shabbos mode is bad for the unit, then it's only compounding the problem.

Samsung Oven (Model NX58H5600SS/AA )
Broil is not working, not turning on, no smell of gas. Just nothing other than the screen stating its set.
Bake works fine.

I am having trouble figuring out if there are one or two igniters on this oven. If there is only one and Bake is working that should rule out an issue with the ignitor.
And now Bake is not working properly. Takes FOREVER to heat up. Gets there eventually though. Is it the ignitor?

Things seem to be freezing over in the refrigerator. The temperature is set to 38° which as far as I remember is the default. Any ideas?

Not saying this is the problem but a good start is to look at the evaporator coils (inside the fridge, usually hidden) check for ice buildup, and to clean the condenser coils (outside the fridge, near the compressor/drip pan)

I actually just cleaned the condenser coils before Pesach with one of those twist brushes. Think I may have damaged something?

Unlikely IMHO. You can look again to see if any fins are bent but that shouldnt be the root cause. Dust buildup could maybe cause some odd performance, but i really just threw that in agav because its easy to cross off the list.

Something to do with the evaporator could be causing a freezing over issue, and in the process you'll see if there's ice buildup on a thermistor or some other sensor

Thanks! Will try to take it apart and take a look. Maybe tomorrow.

Any idea why my GE oven model CGS985SETASS keeps on casuing the control pad to freeze?
Been using the oven like regular and the control pad just locks on me.  After playing around for some time I manage to get the keypad unlocked. Otherwise it remains locked. Thinking to just spend $200 for a new control pad.
No idea why it keeps on locking on me.

@myi Does pressing and holding down clear/off for 3 seconds help?
