Not to be mean but do any of you know how to search on YouTube?
Usually that magnifying glass icon represents a search input.
I'm not who you think I am.

YouTube or generally googling things is a great tool that I employ often. However, there are sometimes detailed aspects to a problem that watching videos on YouTube  won't always help you with, certainly not in an interactive manner with an expert. In this csse, it made more sense to come here - it's a thread where people who are hopefully knowledgeable in this area are willing to help, answer questions, follow up...

Probably going to get in trouble now but the info in this thread is C- at best. YouTube would be a lot better.

What kind of oven do you have?
If there is a gas leak you do NOT want to be using the oven
Gas oven. The stove gives off a strong gas smell, lately the oven hasn't been smelling at all / much, but it also hasn't been cooking much.

Hoping to have someone come down and look at it. Meanwhile, pizza!

Are your burners igniting right away or take a second?

I don't remember and am not home, will TARB. If I had to guess I'd say that they take a second, but would rather verify.

This is why I asked and is not meant to scare you but something that needs to be looked at right away. If it is the stove burners the igniters might need to be cleaned.

Lol, fair.

Found it and cleaned it out. I wouldn't say there was a TON of dirt, but definitely a significant amount. Let's see how the next day or two go. Thanks again.
...aaaand it's back. Leaking again. Cleaning that tube seems to have done nothing.

Can you see where it is leaking from. If it has been doing it for sometime there should be water marks?

Is there water in the pan, a lot?

No, the pan is basically empty. I'm guessing the water leaks into the fridge before it ever gets to the tube, and thereforedoesbt make it down into the pan. I see beads of water on the top of the fridge (the underside of the freezer on top) but can't seem to find the source.

Do you have an icemaker? Can it be leaking at the water valve?

Okay the stove burners take between 1 and 2 seconds to light. The maintenance guy in my building looked at the stove/oven and said that all looks fine, but all is not fine IMO. He did say that the igniters don't look like they need cleaning, FWIW.

It's the stove that smells like gas when used, not the oven.

Unfortunately not, it takes a couple of minutes of the stove on before it starts to smell, and he didn't stick around that long.

If all else fails and you want someone to look into gas leaks asap for free...
a) calm your gas company. They should have a 24 hr 1800gasleak number.
They will come down with a sensor and check everything out.
b) if you want to get more aggressive, call 911. The fire dept will be glad to pull up with their equipment and check everything out.

I don't have experience with these methods, but something tells me that they shouldn't be tried. If the gas company or the fire dept. deem your range unusable then there's nothing you can do, and you'll be stuck without even the little you now have. You'll for sure have to buy a new one.

In my situation that would help, because then my landlord would be convinced that it needs replacing.

I had someone look at it today, he didn't see anything wrong. Cleaned out some junk from the oven, and lowered the gas valve a little bit for the stove. We will see if it helps at all...
