Definitely not hot, more to the cooler side.
This just start recently? Wondering if the a-coil is freezing up restricting air flow.

I left the thermastat on a steady temperature as there was noone home and wanted the house to be cool when I would come by, but even before that, only parts worked.
Will see if I can play around if not have a guy come and check it out.
I had a guy over not long ago, few months back, because it was leaking to the 2nd floor , thought it was the roof but turns out it was the AC compressor.
Don't know of the two are linked to the problem.

Had one put in last year, seems like the mechanic thought he would get away cheap on me and put in a cheap garbage. It lasted for a few weeks and never got around to fix it untill last week where I went back to see what's what and he told me there's a bad compressor, Lol.
His guys spent 4-5 hours fiddleing with the car to replace it. That's what happens when you try to get away cheap, you end up paying expensive.
I never did any research on replacing one of these things, just from the amount of time seems like a big job to replace.
You willing to take on this job, hands on?

You related to CM? You guys have a lot in common. Wouldn't call you du·plic·i·tous, your kind of the opposite of that in many ways, but one guy playing two people.

Would not consider this a DIY job. If my son was still home I would have no problem supervising him. I also have major backup (knowledgeable) neighbors for any unforeseen issues.

Do this first since it is the easiest but that won't be the problem.  :)
The pump seems like the culprit. There should be a sensor (float switch/photo eye) to turn the pump on and off. I would start there.
no idea where to find this or even if I did how to fix it

We are a civilized country. I live on a cul-de-sac.

Problem with AC. Compressor sounds like it's turning on, but fan doesn't turn. Could it just be jammed?

Yes. The compressor makes noise as though it's turning on, but it sounds a little different than usual, but the fan doesn't move

The fan also has a starting cap. Newer units use dual caps.

Not grasping it. This unit is a carrier from 2014, is that new?
