Pop the cover off and take a picture to post tomorrow. Make sure to pull the disconnect first. I would also make sure the AC does try to turn on now.
DW didn't want me to diy. Tech came down this morning and you were correct.

Getting a new whirlpool fridge for around 650 from bestbuy.
Does it pay to buy the 3 year geek plan for 80 dollars?

Comes with 1 year warranty...

Chances are if noone leaves the fridge open during those first three years you fridge should work fine.
Kind of a waste on a fridge to buy for the 3 years ,as the first three years it should work flawlessly.

Or buy with amex and get extended warranty.

The nature of this thread is mostly crowless since a lot of diagnosis is trial and error.
Not true. Probable to least probable.

That is only an order for the trial and error but can also get adjusted by difficulty.

$175
Ouch but I guess for your area that is the going rate. I should come out to NYC and fix minor household issues. Probably make a couple k's in a day.

I don't mind the stereotyping, but I'm not on the east coast. ;) How much is normal in Chicago for such a visit?

I don't mind you assuming I was talking about you being in NYC because I mentioned NYC in the second part.
I would say 75-100 for the service call. Now the question is am I going to be ripped off for a $20 part?

Service calls more like 50 to 75 and if it can be fixed deducted from the total or rather included in the total.

When I say appliance I mean, Stove, oven, washer, dryer, dishwasher, fridge, freezer.
And in Brooklyn, Flatbush/BoroPark.

$50-$75 is very reasonable, you can't charge more for just coming to look at the problem, and it's usually something that can be fixed so it's included in the total repair cost, whether it being an Igniter on an oven for $125 it would be included.

An igniter costs $15 and shouldn't take more than 10 minutes to replace.

That's irrelevant. Same thing applies to any service industry. Noone is coming to your home for 50 bux anymore

Yeh, and what about putting new brake pads on a vehicle for one axle $150-$250. The pads can be bought for $20-$30.
Or what about putting up a fixture in your home, you can buy the fixture and put it up yourself, or change a broken braker? Nothing is free out there, only one exception the "Eggs in Bingo", not just one, 6dozen, you better run over! ;)

Yup that's the way of the world, if you have two left hands it will cost you to borrow a right handed fellow to come and do the repair for you!
