They should both read the same but I would use the lowest possible scale.
ETA: You are set to AC, correct?
Only on DDF does 24/6 mean 24/5/half/half

I took a short video, check your messages.
  I played with both settings.
Put the clamp on in middle of the oven preheating.
You don't have to watch the whole video as all I do is go back and forth, just the first few seconds.

Video didn't come out great.
But tried it with a 3 Piece prong and some Romex, readings coming out the same, meaning one higher than the other, with the 600apm and then the lower setting.

And using the tester in-between I couldn't get it to work. Didn't put something correct.

Will draw it on a paper to show you what I did.. maybe I need to swap it around?

How do I attach the wire to the wall/ceiling?  The walls are too dense to knock in a nail, so I assume staples from a staple gun won't penetrate enough to hold.
I was thinking of running tape along the whole wire to keep it tucked into the curve between the ceiling and wall.

Question about GE oven re Shabbos mode:

I have a GE model JGBP30WEA1WW gas oven. The manual for the oven says that some models come with Shabbos mode. However, it seems mine does not (I cycle through the options using the keypad combinations they give and it only goes through "on" and "off", which I think are for turning the automatic shutoff on and off, but no "sab" which would indicate Sabbath mode).

I would like to replace the control board with one that has Shabbos mode. Is this even possible? Also, I can't seem to find anywhere a way to tell which specific models of either the oven or the control board have Shabbos mode (only that some similar models have it, but no model numbers like the one I gave above). Is it something that GE started putting in their ovens at some point and mine is just old? If that's the case, I guess any later model control board will work, right? If not, which model control board do I need? The model I found is WB27K10143, and here's an example of a used one I found on eBay:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/GE-Range-Oven-Control-Board-WB27K10143/264724894091?hash=item3da2d5518b:g:dbgAAOSw3tNetZrN

Anyone have experience doing this? Thanks in advance.

EDIT: I should say that the original model # for the control panel is WB11K10013, but the one I gave up above replaces that one (so I guess it's the updated version)

Call GE.  Their phone people should know enough to give you the information you need.

Thanks. Hadn't really considered that because it's such an old model and I guess I don't feel optimistic about customer service in geenral. But worth a try I suppose.

Genuinely appreciate it, but I'm assuming that if a board has a model number and it has Shabbos mode, if you tell me the model number of the board, that would answer my question, no? If it doesn't have a model number, then even if I test it out, it wouldn't answer my question since I wouldn't know which model to order. Thank you in any case.

This is with the assumption that you have the right connectors for a different motherboard.

Here's a picture of my oven with the shabbos feature.

And here's the exact item you need.
https://partsdr.com/part/wb27k10355-oven-control-board?model=JGB281DER2BB

There's a few pictures of the control board which you should compare to own own board to see if it matches up.

All the parts for my model.

If there's anything else I can be of assistance, feel free to ask away. I hope I was of help.

There's a few model and part numbers for the same item.
Click on the link so you can see all the numbers they reference it back to.

Thanks again. Definitely looks like you have a different model than I do and the panel isn't the same. My model has a manual dial for the oven, for example (actually, that's something I'd like to keep if possible because it's better for using the Sabbath Mode feature on Yom Tov). It's possible your board and connector may fit mine, but I'd like to first see if I can just get an exact replacement with the exception of it having Shabbos Mode.  But thank you again. Genuinely appreciate any help and feedback.

Good luck.

My board already has a hole through the board from all the times clicking the bake button, so a dial knob might be a better option for me!

GE oven.
When I turn it on, it sometimes seems not to ignite right away, and then I hear a pop when it does.
Sometimes, as it's baking, I smell gas.

Thermocouple or igniter?  or something else?

Ignitor is always a good guess.  :)
Does your oven have a thermocouple?

sounds like it's a weak ignitor the way it's being described.

Thanks!
Is there a way to know which one to buy?  Or do I do my usual: take out the bad part, bring to store, get the same thing.

From best to worst
1. Liquid nails (i.e. glue)
2. Clear putty
3. Two sided tape

ETA staples of the type that you knock in with a hammer are the old tried & true way of doing this, but they're much more work and tend to come out messy if you're not experienced at knocking them in.
