Topic Wiki

Open Serve: Do 1 of the following:
1) Buy a temporary card. (free in cvs in NJ won’t take cc)($3.95 fee), or
2) Open online. They’ll send you a card. (free)
Note that you COULD have more than one of these: Bluebird (BB), Redcard and serve.

Loading Serve: Serve does not have any fees to load money.
a) At CVS, 7-11, and Rite Aid ONLY CASH can be loaded.
b) At Walmart GCs …uh Debit Cards (besides Vanilla cards) can be loaded onto Serve just like onto BB. Load limit: $2500/day up to $5000/month
c) At Family Dollar max $499.99/Day, not hard coded, YMMV, Cash or Debit/Gift Card.
WARNING: There are reports of debit cards being drained at FD, and not loading onto Serve, so FD is not recommended.
d) An Amex CC of the serve cardholder can be linked and used to fund your Serve ONLINE. Load limit: $200 per day/$1000 per month
Amex cc loads are not considered cash advance. They DO NOT earn points, or count towards a spending threshold.
e) Debit Cards linked to Serve: $200/day up to 1000/month ONLINE.  But only a permanent DC with your name on it. (NOT GCs)

So your total loading limit per month, if using all 3 methods is $7K.

-Serve has a $1 monthly inactivity fee (waived in VA, NY and TX) that is waived if you use Direct Deposit OR add $500.
-If Serve has a bonus for using direct deposit, use AP.

Using the funds on Serve:
-Free ATM use/withdrawal at MoneyPass ATMs. $2 elsewhere.
-Serve has a Bill Pay feature – same as BB.  You tell them who to pay, and they send a check for you.  You can pay up to 5k of unregistered billers, but 10K of registered ones (registered= those on their bill pay list). Pay your Credit Cards bills as well as many other bills or any person!
WARNING: Do not use the bill pay feature to pay the Credit Card that is linked for online loads.
-money in your Serve account can be withdrawn directly to a linked bank account, which, if done too much, may be seen as risky by Serve, but in moderation should be fine.
Withdraw to your bank https://secure.serve.com/Actions/WithdrawMoney

Make sure the name, address and phone number on your profile match your credit card billing address, or you may get declined.  When linking your credit card at serve.com, the website will only show you the address on your profile, but not the phone number, so this is easy to overlook.  Go to profile, and check/update your phone number there.

Error likely with the Serve account:
When you create a new account and add a credit card, you will be allowed to do the first transaction. After that, your account will probably go into system lockdown until you verify some information. Likely error message for this case is "Risk declined operation" when you try to add money on to the account. You will need to send in (online, fax or mail) a photo ID and a copy of your credit card or statement. Upload your documents here -
https://secure.serve.com/User/SecureFileUpload. Then Call up AMEX Account Protection Services at 1-800-555-4318 and tell them you uploaded the documents and ask them to verify it for you.

If you're in NY or you load $500, there's no fee.

FTFY.

One piece of advice I came across somewhere. Not sure if it's accurate.
After successfully linking CC for online loads, wait a 3-4 days before adding money.
This will lower your chances of having to verify your CC (which can be a PITA).

Another tip. You can add both a CC and DC to "schedule add" (automatic recurring loads). It's not straightforward as once you have a scheduled add for one, it removes the option completely. But if you add or edit a new card, you'll see a link for scheduled add on the bottom of the page and can have a second scheduled add.

Can PayPal withdraw from serve because when I tried it failed also I realized that paypals 2 test deposits were still in the account im guessing they weren't able to withdraw that either.

I'm pretty sure you only get the higher limits when you create your account through ISIS app, I dont think it works if you buy a temp then add it to ISIS

I did open my account with isis but they then sent me a permanent card with the isis logo.  Anyhoo, turns out is was Chase SP that was stopping the loads.  Fraud alert was concerned that serve was a "new vendor" even though I had done 3 load already.  Problem solved.

Of course, Serve provides the Account and Routing number for DD only, not withdrawals.
If you want to withdraw, you need to do it from within Serve (though you can't d it to PP since it's not a bank account).

Bump.

Can't add Serve to your Amex login (as far as I know) the twitter promos work with Serve, as well as SBS.
I only paid 15% by switching to dansdeals

I've  been feeling left out of the ISIS goodness on my rooted phone. After all, ISIS doesn't work with rooted phones. Well, thank God for Google. And thanks to Mr Sergey!
http://www.droidforums.net/index.php?threads/262375/

I haven't tried this yet, but I hope to at some point soon. I'll let you know if this works on my rooted S4. I've seriously been considering unrooting my phone for months now, not sure why I didn't think of my friend Google.

Why did you root it in the first place?

Why did you root it in the first place?
A few reasons, including:
•Backup/restore apps + app data from phone to phone. I use the pro version of Easebackup (which I got for free thru Appgratis) to backup wirelessly to my Google account
• delete bloatware from phone using Titanium Backup (the only asp I actually paid for)
• block ads in browser/apps using Ad Blocker (do you see any ads in Tapatalk? I don't.)
There may be other reasons, can't think of them now.

It works! OK, let me maximize my BB one more time before switching to Serve. Guessing that means I'll double dip this month? Now I need to do some hw on Serve.

ETA just noticed that ISIS with root was posted 3 days ago upthread, so I updated the wiki with the pertinent info.

I'm probably misunderstanding. It doesn't work with Sprint for a completely different reason.

ISIS Serve - other than a horrible name, is a gold mine! Who cares if you get no sign on bonus from Sprint. Go buy a 1 day sim from TMobile and get 10 bux in amazon cards for signing up for ISIS. Then get 50 bux back by creating a serve account (MUST HAVE CLOSED all previous accounts).

After that you will have a higher limit serve card. Then sign up for ISIS using your Sprint SIm and be happy - add your serve account to it (that you created with the 1 day TMobile SIM) and party for 50 bux a month till 2015!

Have you done this? I thought the ISIS app isn't compatible with Sprint phones/SIM cards.

I think he means use a T-Mobile phone, you can probably borrow one, or maybe use a display model.

I have not been able to find an isis case for an iphone 5c. Does anyone know if I can get for an iphone 5 or 5s...  I am just going to connect the serve and then stop using it
