AA Flight Cancelled, Please Help

Hi, my flight today AA 3522 EWR-ORD was totally cancelled, don't know why, they don't have anything for me before shabbos. Any ideas? Are they able to rebook me on a different airline? On the phone the agent said it depends on reason that flight was cancelled. Thanks in advance.

What I have done in the past was to ask for availability on a flight out of LGA, and then ask a few people at the gate if they would be willing to be rebooked to get there quicker and share a Uber with me.

They ended up booking me through LGA on AA flight leaving 3:45pm will be close but I'm doing it... Currently in bravo pizza in midtown :)

Now the return flight MDW-EWR delayed 1.5 hrs. Just not my weekend.
And now with 2 kids, one who is going a little nuts...
