im going to gatlinburg in late august. anyone been there and have good recommendations what to do?

i did very similar last summer. maybe ill try in a couple weeks to type up my trip report. in the meantime if you have specific questions I am happy to answer.

what would be suitable activities for a young couple? specifically looking to do something (not museum type) like hike bbq boating...

I did a 2 Day trip last year, have the TR typed up a few months. Needs editing and pics added i'll try for this week.

we did it with a 1 year old. there are 3 really good distinct drives with lots of places to pull out and enjoy waterfalls/views etc. We tried to focus on the drives while my kid was asleep and we got a baby carrier and did some small hikes when he woke up.

We were never able to get a good view from clingsman dome as both times we were in the area the weather was not cooperating.

I did not do any boating as we stayed in Gatlinburg and Fortuna lake was one are we did not make it to.

We did do one afternoon at the Ripleys aquarium (someone in the parking lot of the hotel gave us free tickets) and it was a nice relaxing break from all the driving/hiking.

Has anyone been to the Great Smokey Mountains recently? Does anyone know if kosher bread or any other kosher products are available? We are going this summer and I want to bring as little food as possible.

We are also going to visit Chattanooga, so information there would be great.

don't know about the food. but there is great white water rafting nearby in benton, tn.

Jet skiing in Sevierville. I hope if you're going you're not taking a hotel. Cabins and private chalets hidden in the mountains is a big reason it makes it a gem of a place and experience.

I am taking a hotel. I'm going with little kids and really appreciate the hotel breakfast, pool/water park and other amenities.

At what age can kids ride jet skis?

Going to East TN? Gatlinburg area? Tons to do. Simple search on Google brings up tons. PM if you need more.

Not sure who mentioned kosher food but there isn't much if any at all

smoky mountains is far from the perfect example of nice hotels and kosher food
