Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

I am right at 5/24 until December. One of the 5 is a business card (non-Chase). Is that included in the count?

if it doesn't show in your credit report chase shouldn't be able to see it.

I tried to get my credit report from annualcreditreport.com, but they only let me see Transunion's report. They mentioned something about the security of my info, and said I would have to mail in form. I'm checking for 5/24 inquiries. Should Transunion be enough?

Also the credit limits for some of the cards don't seem to match exactly to any of the cards I would be on (even as AU)...Does authorized account as opposed to individual account mean I am only a secondary user?

Dan wrote "If you have opened additional user cards in the past 2 years you can request from the bank or credit bureaus to have those removed from your credit report so that it doesn’t negatively impact your ability to get approved for a new credit card."

Is he referring to being an AU on someone else's account or adding someone else to your own account?

How do I have it removed?

I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

I have identity guard and can look at all three reports and they all didn't show a number of my new accounts and I don't know why...

Credit bureau depends where chase pulls from and IIRC it's different per state..

Individual accounts == ccs you opened
Secondary accounts == ccs you are an AU on

Dont think you need it removed, recon is able to "ignore" secondary accounts when it comes to 5/24

If I can avoid recon it would be even better...especially since I like the mehalech of applying for more cards that day as long as I was approved for earlier cards...

Some have, some haven't. From DDMS "Note that if you have opened up 5 or more cards in the past 2 years it can be difficult to get approved for most cards from Chase unless you have a banking relationship like Chase Private Client."

I have 1 card I myself opened in last 24, and 8 AU cards were opened. Any way I can get them removed from my credit report quickly? Do I have to dispute with each credit agency separately?

I just posted my story on Reddit on how I overcame 5/24 twice without CPC or being pre-approved. It is a bit long, but here is the link for those interested:

I was rejected on 8/22 due to 5/24 when I applied in branch. I had no CPC status and no pre-approval. I was told the decision was final. With nothing to lose, I went to another branch and asked to apply for CPC. I didn't meet the $250K requirement, but I was accepted anyway. The banker said CPC members get special treatment when it comes to bypassing 5/24 and today just called Chase for "special reconsideration" (a term he used). However, he just called me back and said that Chase no longer accepts banker calls for special recon, and that I had to call Chase.

When I called, the agent said that a decision of rejection had already been made, so I mentioned that my CPC banker told me that CPC members get special consideration. The agent then asked me some questions regarding income and occupation, put me on hold for about 5-10 minutes, then came back and said that I would get a decision in the mail in 1-2 wks. I again emphasized being CPC, and he said that’s the only reason I’m even getting a second look at this point.

I read one DP of someone else in a very similar situation whose new CPC banker was able to call (post-rejection) and get him approved. I'm wondering if there's something my CPC banker hasn't done.
Hi dave,
Just wondering how much were you able to deposit to get the CPC

Congrats! You make me think there is hope for me and my fiance yet - we are in a very similar situation (credit scores and income). The only difference may be that we both have relatively short histories (my longest car has only been open 3 years and hers 2ish)

Just to update everyone about that pending verification approval: Just went through the process and got it the approval finalized for my wife. So phew! That's done, and we are all good for 2 CSR's despite 5/24   :D

Good move! Now that you're on topic it will help you to somewhat learn how to read forums and keep up on the thread (FWIT, lurkers and new members get very confused and overwhelmed around here).

That is not correct.
"LESS IS MORE" It is the cumulative effect that kills deals!!! How many times do I have to say this?  >:(
