Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

I have a stack of the boxes. Anyone who wants one is welcome to pick one up. There's really nothing inside, besides for a fancy pouch for the T&Cs.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

I was told you need 250K in chase to be CPC

You're supposed to have 250k, but bankers can accept less initially. Real minimum is $1,000, although anything under $100,000 is supposed to raise a flag for banker review. I assume people will lose CPC if they don't transfer funds after a set period of time.

is there a referral bonus set up for this card yet? i know they have it for the sapphire preferred

Not yet

If not pre-approved or cpc is there any point of going into branch or online the same?

Are you not pre-approved in branch? Because in branch pre-approvals and online are different. If not pre-approved in branch, it's the same and you might as well use Dan's link.

Just got mine
No box
Not impressed

Sapphire looks even nicer

Ran out of boxes apparently. I wonder if you can call and get some sort of compensation for no box?  ;D

My 18yo son was declined.
Used 100K income and no  housing payments; he is student.
Initial reason for denial was 5/24, but explained that most of those are AU and he only has 2 of his own cards. The reconsidered, then said credit history is too brief (less than 6 months), esp. given the 10k CL for this card.
Spoke to "customer resolution", who re-evaluated and said same thing.
I asked if he could make the application for CSP but said would need to reapply online, but no guarantee, even though it's lower CL, because the short credit history is a problem.
What's my son's best next move?
1. Walk away?
2. Apply for CSP?
3. Apply for Freedom?

And if best step is to apply, how long does he have so that the credit pulls can be merged? 24hours?

Thanks for any/all advice.

Why is he over 5/24 with AUs but less than 6 months history? Nothing backdated, or they ignored them?

BTW, it's illegal to put down household income for an applicant under 21, if you care.

I'm still not sure what to make of CPC. I went with my wife to one of our local branches. I became a CPC 1 week ago, but the CPC wasn't here today. We went to a regular banker and my wife applied through him. We told him we are CPC. She was not pre-approved, and the screen said pending. He called in and was told we would get a decision in a week or 2. He didn't push hard. When we went home, my wife called and was told a decision was already made and she was rejected for "too many accounts in past 2 years" (10/24). She mentioned that CPC banker told us CPC is supposed to help us bypass that. The guy then said "let's have another look" and asked my wife questions about employer, income, then asked if he could reallocate some funds. She said yes, and she was approved for $10K! So in this instance, I know that CPC helped.

I applied last Monday 8/22 and was rejected for 12/24. I joined CPC the next day (I know know I should've done it before applying, but I didn't think I would get accepted as CPC) and call recon after that. The CSR said they would reconsider my app (previously was a hard rejection), and that I would hear in 1-2 weeks. It's been several days now. I'm going to wait a couple weeks, but given my wife's success, I wonder if the agent I spoke with had the power for me to be approved.

Yes but only if you do it secretly.
