Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

7-10 days usually means it will be declined.  I would call.

Called and they said its declined for having too many cards. i think he is at 4/24.. clearly that is not true as CSR was approved but CSP was declined.. they said the reason will come in mail in 1-2 weeks and then you can call if you think the reason is not correct..

What to do now.. wait for the letter to come in mail and then call or call again and try to get it approved ?

How does that absolute statement explain the people who were approved?

Are AMEX Platinum business cards included in the 5/24 rule?
Or is it only if you apply for personal cards?

Amex business cards don't count as they aren't reported on personal credit report.

Usually they have CPC, or are under 5/24 when considering AU & business cards. Seen very few if any DP that are otherwise.

and all the pre-approvals? Just seems deceptive if you are writing a definitive statement to not hold by it.

I assume in branch pre-approvals won't have this language on them. Kind of like how some AmEx targeted offers don't have their limiting language. Should make it easier to know with Chase!

Of course. If you are asking if the money spent towards the $300 credit counts, most people are saying that it probably will but that you shouldn't risk it.

Also, the rep was very nice. He said it wasn't public information but there may be some changes to 5/24 next month. No idea how legit that is, but it is what he told me.

Application page now lists 5/24 rule.

So if airfare and hotels dont count, what does count?
