Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

Applied now for reserve, SP and UE and got the following message for all 3. should i call or wait it out? I also applied moments ago for the Ink plus in-branch 70k offer and was approved instantly

"Thanks for applying.
We need to review your application a little longer.
We'll let you know our decision in writing as soon as we can. If we approve your application, you'll receive your card in the mail in 7-10 business days. Please don't resubmit your application."

Update: was automatically approved for SR with35k limit, it showed up in my account in the morning. In the afternoon I received a call from Chase to veriy if I really applied for all 4 cards and was told that the SP and UE are declined due to too much credit, I asked if they can reconsider rep said she can reconsider but only for one more, I chose the UE and was also approved. I was at 3/24 on primaries and 4/25 including AU. No CPC.

Chase doesn't prorate on closing, downgrading should work though.

Unless he wants a United card and doesn't have one.

On point. The perks on UE overweight the better bonus, plus I got a targeted 55k bonus for the UE by using this link http://unitedexplorercard.com/trip1

Applied for Reserve when it came out and was denied for "5/24". Applied again now for the fun of it and will probably be denied.

If I can’t get a Reserve myself, should I downgrade my current $95 Sapphire Preferred to Freedom Unlimited (or something) and make myself an AU on my wife’s Reserve for $75 so I can get car rental insurance?

The insurance is the only reason I'm holding on to my SP. Or is there any reason that I have my own SP?

I've never really dealt with Citi so I don't know for if that would be worth it or not. My hunch is that unless I can get my hands on a SR I'm better off staying away from another expensive card. I have an Amex Plat already as well. I travel a lot for work and the car rental insurance is important to me. I'm leaning toward my above game plan.

The insurance on the CSP is insufficient for your purposes?

Well, I use my wife's CSR for my travel expenses (except Amex Plat for 5x airfare) and therefore my own CSP is pretty much redundant. My reckoning is $95 for keeping my own CSP vs. $75 as an AU on the CSR which gives me the same insurance. That way I can use my CSR for car rentals and get the 3X instead of 2X.

Of course, I'd much rather nab my own CSR with the 100k bonus. Hmm...does being an AU on a CSR preclude me from every getting the bonus on my own?

Re-applied for CSR last week in branch w/ pre-approved offer (CPC, exactly 5/24). Initially got 30 day message, checked over weekend and was approved w/ 30k CL
