Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

I applied for the reserve for a relitive of mine who had all his personal and business accounts and cards shut down several years ago. He tried to apply for chase cc's several times the past several years with no success. I asked him to give me a shot, it was declined at first but after one short phone call they approved it no question asked.

if i purchase plane tickets thru orbitz, does that count towards my $300, or does it specifically have to be purchased directly from airlines own website?

The credit works on anything that is coded as travel, not just airlines.

that is very interesting. my confusion stemmed from the following:

Q. What do I need to know about earning rewards in the 'airline tickets when purchased directly with the airline' category?

    A. Only purchases for airline tickets made directly with the airline will qualify. Please note that other air travel-related purchases will not qualify; for example, in-flight purchases, the purchasing of airline miles or points, non-ticket purchases made within the airport, and airline tickets purchased through travel agencies, discount travel sites, vacation clubs, tour operators, or tickets booked as part of a travel package offered by non-airline merchants.

I'm assuming these FAQs have nothing to do with CSR per say.
Most of those questions have nothing to do with travel.

They're doing complementary expediting of all CSR'S, they won't be able to get it to you any faster if you call. You should have it by today or tomorrow.
I doubt it, don't know how people are getting their cards within 2 business days after approval.
My app was approved on 27th night, called 28th morning to expedite (which now seems useless/unnecessary), just called again now 29th night, rep says will ship out tomorrow 30th, urg  :( :(

I got approved yesterday, UPS says it's coming tomorrow.

Wow, I guess it was a mistake to call chase after approval to expedite.

Bingo!
Are you implying it would have come sooner or the call was just unnecessary?

I have had five all come in two days. AFAIK that is the way they are being shipped. Having a human get involved I don't think helps.
