Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

You should be fine for the 2016 TC, statement close should be 12/21.

Got approved today for CSR with due date 1/27/17. Do I have to move up my due date in order to qualify for travel credit for December?
If yes, how do I do that? TIA

What are the chances someone who got his 1st cc (as primary) a few months ago (when he turned 18), would be approved for CSR? It's a Freedom (was FU, changed to Freedom). He uses $2 every month on it, and pays on time. It's the only way for me to get a CSR as I am way over 5/24, and another person in the family has a "bad relationship" with Chase (or some similar language), and has been declined several times. I don't want to apply unless there's a good chance at approval. Obviously, 5/24 is not an issue, but would they approve a premium 10k card for such a new customer? Thanks.

Does he have any AU on other ppl's cards? There have been reports of success, but it totally depends how big his credit profile is

Yes, he has many AU cards. Does that make it better or worse?

Better. You can check credit karma or the like just to see how big his credit profile is...how many cards, total revolving income...

The problem is, once you claim that you're not responsible for them, they tend not to take them into consideration at all.

Not to rehash an old debate, but AUs are definitionally not responsible for the debt, and an applicant under the age of 21 is going to be looked at even more carefully thanks to the Card Act.

Yea although they don't give closing dates that late in the month.
