Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

Never buy insurance that's marketed by the airlines. Ever.
My sense is that it wouldn't pay to buy at all insurance if one had the csr,  would you agree?

No I dont agree. Depends on what you are trying to cover. If you just want to cover the flight and baggage then maybe. If you are trying to cover medical than buy separate insurance.

I hear, I wasn't really thinking of medical since the OP asked about trip cacellation/delay.

You can purchase insurance with better trip cancellation and delay coverage benefits as well.

I booked myself a ticket yesterday using someome elses chase points a little bit of money was also charged to their  credit card. Is there anyway to gain the insurance, and travel delay benefits to my reservation?

if they add you as an authorized user on the card used to charge the extra money.

But not with the 100k bonus points.

Any idea or assumption if this promotion will ever come back?

100k bonus was used to generate a huge buzz around the card and costed chase a ton of money. definitely don't see them doing that again now that the card is even more popular than AMEX platinum or Citi Prestige.

I am sure you can, the question is if it pays. What additional benfits do you receive and how much do they cost?

They're very cheap. Compare on Squaremouth.

Squaremouth has so many choices.  How do I know which one's are reputable companies?  Is there a way to compare coverage besides clicking on the 'more details'?
Anyone have a recommendation for me? Mostly want good medical coverage, since it sounds like using the Chase Reserve card covers most of the trip interruptions and baggage problems.

TA has recommended Allianz, and AIG/Travel Guard, in the past.

Trying to rent car with UR points reserve and they are not letting me search in 08701....? I waited on hold for 20 min then got disconnected...Also, do reps have ability to book for same day (online doesn't allow)?
I am sometimes accused of overthinking things. I am still mulling over whether that accusation has merit.

I downgraded from the reserve. They sent me exact number, exp and 3 digit code. Would old card still work?

So what's the point of them sending me new cards?

What do you want to know?
The Reserve is a new card that was released this past summer. Do you mean the Chase Sapphire Preferred?
