Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

so to what exactly does then refer to with this line on ddms?

"Or you can just use them for paid airfare, hotels, car rentals, or activities at a value of 1.5 cents each"
What are you not understanding? You could use your points when booking on Chase, and your points will be valued at 1.5¢ each.

30 days from when it's billed.

When booking a hotel with CSR UR points do I have Chase trip protection, for example if someone in my family goes into labor and we would have to cancel the Hotel would we be reimbursed by Chase?

If not, would paying $1 with my CSR and doing the rest with my UR points do the trick?

When booking with UR points out always asks if I have a promo code, is there anywhere to find good Promo codes for hotels, car rentals etc. That would work on chase travel booking site?

yes. couple years back on a MacBook bought from B&H (no tax to OOS) and then price went down on best buy and they matched the new price even though with BB I would have had to pay tax making the difference not as big.

IIRC it was a simple process and they verified over the phone that the price was legit to "lock it in"

99% sure transportation is excluded, as are "consumable/degradable" items like batteries.

It seems like this has changed you have to do it online or VIA US mail. You show a copy of the ad showing the lower price. They are just giving a hard time in parting with the money

Need advice.

Wife's Sapphire Reserve first statement was last year at the end of September which means AF is about to hit. She has 130 UR and an Ink Cash to keep the UR account alive.

Do you have a Reserve? Do you use the benefits?
Memories last forever, make them while you can.

I guess it's more complicated than just open or close. I also have my own Sapphire Reserve card so I have those benefits already. This is my wife's. Kind of wondering if conventional wisdom is to close it and beat the AF or to keep open and use it for the travel credit. Also, didn't they change whether the travel credit was calendar year or from date of opening? Not sure which group my wife's card is in if first statement was last September.

You'll be able to get the TC again once the your new cardmember year rolls over. I would wait, get the TC, then downgrade to a freedom or FU to get the AF back.

Thanks.

1. How do I figure out when my new card year starts?
2. How much time do I have to downgrade after that to get back AF?

If you don't need the benefit how is the travel credit worth the fee?
If you opened last September the credit will be based on calender year.

I guess @mgarfin is saying to get the travel credit and then get AF back is possible.

If it's based on calender year (which it is) you can get it back without figuring out your card member year. You can do it immediately.

ETA: Assuming you haven't already used your 2017 credit.
