DansDeals.com » Blog Archive » Chase Sapphire Reserve Additional User Benefits And Lounge Guesting Policy Are Awesome!

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

no 1.5 % cash back means you earn 1.5 points per dollar spent and each point is worth 1 cent so you would get $800 not $1200. it is worth 1.5 for travel if you have a CSR active

Officially neither. AFAIK you don't get precheck with AUs, but if you were to, once it's done it can't be revoked when a card is canceled. There were some reports of PP working to access lounges even when the card has been canceled. Wouldn't count on it though.
Memories last forever, make them while you can.

not a particularly good offer. the $300 travel credit on CSR can be used on just about anything remotely travel related that most people would value it close to full value. No reason to sell it at a discount.

Eh, you can typically buy airline gc at around 85%. Offering this at just under 90% isn't a horrible offer.

Any instances of not being charged for AUs?

I added my first AU about 2 days after approval and was charged.  I added a second AU about 2-3 months ago - no charge thus far.

Did it fall through the cracks?

When is the annual fee charged. In the 12th statement or the 13th one after card opening. So if I have one coming up in Aug end then will I be charged on that or on the Sept end statement.

13th statement.

so you were charged for yr 1 in your 1st statement. year 2 starts with 13th statement.

If you opened in Aug 2016, your next fee will be charged Sep 1, 2017.
