Chase Sapphire Reserve BENEFITS master thread

5/24 applies to this card
Minimum $10K of CL is needed, so if you can't get 10K on an instant, there's another great reason to get declined

There are multiple instances reported on this very thread of someone who was way over 5/24 and did not have PC and who got approval after recon.

The information below no longer applies for 2016/2017 but should still be useful for 2017/2018

Can you still get a 2016 travel credit if you apply now for a Sapphire Reserve card?

People have been reporting various due dates in January. If you get a due date between the 6th to the 25th then your bill will close between December 9th-28th and you will have time to spend the $300 in 2016 travel credit.

It is definitely still possible to get those due dates, but there’s no guarantee. If you do apply then be sure to call reconsideration to see if you can get approved today.
You may also be able to change your payment due date to generate a December statement if your due date is earlier than January 6 or later than January 25th. Just call to have you due date changed to January 25th to have your statement close on December 28th.

From here. Hopefully this will stop the constant questions.

i made a travel purchase and got 3X points a while ago, i just used all my points today
now i need to cancel the purchase that earned the points.
i know chase will claw them back pts (and i'm not trying to cheat them, but its done already)
what happens to "clawback," will acct go into negative?
i took out all the points in order to close the acct- will they bill me for neg points balance after card is closed?

will this red flag me/ my other accts?  please help... this was done by mistake n i dont want trouble!!

Nothing wrong if it happens once in a while. It will go in to a negative, and even out with future purchases.

What do you guys think  here? Got AF and AU fee both charged in September 1 and I have just 2 days now to cancel or downgrade to avoid the fees right? Already have regular Sapphire card  and few freedom cards. So what  to convert to? Already have ink plus card for points transfer capability.

Why not to regular Sapphire, unless you are looking for more AF..
wait, is this your 2nd year? make sure to use the $300 Airline credit before DG or cancelling.

I think he is referring to the fact that Chase often gives prorated refund when you cancel/downgrade, even if it's the middle of the year and it's been way more than 30 days since the AF hit. In your case, that means you can wait, get the $300 credit in January, cancel soon after. If my math is right, you'll have paid an AF of only $120 or so after you get the refund (since you'll have kept the card 1/3 of the year), which you'll net a $180 profit by waiting.

Having said that, it might be worth calling Chase now to confirm that they'll give you a prorated refund, that way it's on your record.

yes got to find out if they will give prorated refund 3 months after the $450 AF is paid. My AF  is due on October 1st. I doubt they will give any refunds months months later

Full refund & Pro rated refund questions
Got AF charged on Sept 1, do I have until tomorrow Oct 1 or until November 1 to cancel or to PC for full $450 refund? 60 or 30 days? My SC is not due until Jan 2018, if I pay AF now, can I get pro rated AF refund in Jan 2018?

Did you send them an inquiry or something about not being able to transfer points and then they nailed you with that letter?

I doubt they'll shut you down. the letter just says you can transfer UR to other people until you provide the docs. If you don't need to transfer and have other redemptions, then you can continue to ignore.
